Outstanding European sire Siyouni sired his 20th stakes winner and first in Australia when the Jean Dubois-trained colt Aylmerton won the G2 Todman Stakes at Randwick.

Chalkin owns Woodpark Stud in the NSW Southern Highlands. The stud is managed by Dubois, a former successful trainer of thoroughbreds and harness horses in France who has been in Australia for almost three years.

Siyouni stands at the Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval in France for a fee of €75,000.

"He is a very much like his father who is a very good stallion," Dubois said.

Dubois said he now intends to run the colt in the Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill.

Lightly raced New Zealand-bred gelding Almost Court delivered a hometown victory in the Listed Canberra Cup for local trainers Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones.

The former Kiwi gelding became the 12th stakes winner for his sire Alamosa when he led throughout to win the $200,000 race.

Jones said Almost Court Horseform (Alamosa x Cinder Bella by Victory Dance) could now head to the Listed Albury Gold Cup on March 23 after recording his sixth win in Australia.

A $36,000 Karaka Select Sale purchase, Almost Court began his career in New Zealand where he won once from six starts.

Owner Brian Court then sent him to Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones and he now races for a syndicate that includes the NZ owner and a number of first-time locals.

With seven wins and three placings from 15 starts, Almost Court has earned $A237,720 prizemoney.

Alamosa, the sire of G1 winners Stolen Dance and Kirramosa, stands at Wellfield Lodge in New Zealand.

Yarraman Park stallion I Am Invincible provided his 28th stakes winner when the Mick Price-trained She’s So High won the Listed Incognitus Stakes at Flemington.

She’s So High (I Am Invincible x High Achiever by Exceed and Excel) had not been seen since she ran fourth in the G1 Thousand Guineas in October.

Bred and sold by Kambula Stud at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, She's So High was later purchased by Blueblood Thoroughbreds from Amarina Farm for $120,000 at the 2016 Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Classy colt Assimilate recorded a break through stakes victory in the Listed Canberra Guineas to become the 37th stakes winner for his sire Sebring.

He has now won three times for earnings of $230,750.

Lope De Vega mare Spanish Reef scored a deserved stakes breakthrough with a victory in the G3 Schweppervescence Trophy at Flemington.

A $12,500 Patinack Farm Dispersal Sale buy for her trainer Ken Keys, Spanish Reef has now earned almost $300,000 from just 12 starts.

Spanish Reef Horseform (Lope De Vega x Lemon Reef by Lemon Drop Kid) is the 34th stakes winner by former shuttle sire Lope De Vega (Shamardal).

The late Stratum was responsible for two stakes winners in Melbourne and Perth on Saturday.

Talented 3YO filly Bella Martini Horseform (Stratum x Silverbeat by Distant Music) will be sent for a break after she posted an impressive victory in the G2 AV Kewney Stakes at Flemington. She also won the Listed Gosford Guineas in January.

Bella Martini, winner of five of her nine starts with prizemoney of $350,000, is one of four stakes winners produced by SIlverbeat. The others are G2 winner Upbeat and stakes-winners Volcanic Ash and Alpha Beat.

In Perth Stratum’s classy sprinter Battle Hero Horseform won his third stakes race for his new connections in the Listed Cyril Flower Handicap at Ascot.

Prepared by Chris Gangemi, the 6YO Battle Hero 9Stratum x Fromm by O’Reilly) was bred and formerly raced by Bob and Sandra Peters before he was purchased by Black Type Bloodstock at the 2017 Perth Winter Thoroughbred Sale for $60,000.

Battle Hero and Bella Martini are among 38 stakes winners by Stratum, who died in 2016.

Dubawi’s international son Akeed Mofeed sired his first winner when 2YO colt Heart Conquered won at Morphettville.

Akeed Mofeed, winner of the Hong Kong Derby and Hong Kong Cup during a decorated racing career that saw him rated the third best horse in the world in early 2014, was retired to stand at South Australia's Goldin Farms in 2014.

It was a notable weekend for champion sire Dubawi as he sired his 34th G1 winner when the 6YO gelding North America Horseform (Dubawi x Northern Mischief by Yankee Victor) won the Al Maktoum Challenge at Meydan in Dubai.

On the same program Jordan Sport Horseform (Dubawi x Wonder Why by Tiger Hill) added to Dubawi’s overall stakes tally of 146, when he was victorious in the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal.

Dubawi is also the dam sire Blair House Horseform, a 5YO gelding who provided the Cheveley Stud-based sire Pivotal with his 27th G1 winner and 141st stakes winner when he won the G1 Jebel Hatta at Meydan beating the favourite Benbatl (Dubawi) by three quarters of a length.

Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud in the UK for a fee of £250,000.

R4 RANDWICK 10 March 2018
Unsw Todman Stakes 2CG , 1200m
Race Synopsis: Aylmerton followed his very good debut win in a 2YO maiden (1200m) at a Canterbury midweek meeting on 21 February to advance quickly and take out this Group Two race, narrowly but in impressive fashion. He enjoyed a nice trip in fifth place on the rails from his inside barrier (1), got the third on straightening. Challenged on the inner from the 200m and finished a bit too well to score by a long head in fast time (1:08.84), staking claims as a Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) prospect. Ef Troop soon improved along the rails from his good barrier (2) to share the lead (with Legend Of Condor) at a quick tempo (first 600m 34.06). He then fought back really well in the straight, only being overtaken nearing the post for (long head) second. Tchaikovsky racing in winkers for the first time, improved here on his debut fifth in the Pierro Plate (1100m) at Randwick on 17 February. He had a nice trip in fourth place (one out and one back), moved up at the 200m and kept running on well for a close up third. Legend Of Condor raced outside the leader (Ef Troop) and held on quite well after working a good tempo for (2.3 lengths) fourth. The favourite Performer raced in sixth place, one off the rails, commenced a run (under pressure) at the 300m but dipped or shied suddenly at the 150m dislodging Hugh Bowman.
